Life's A Bagel
About This Spot
Stepping into Life's A Bagel feels like slipping into a small but bustling corner of New York, transported straight to a place where bagels are more than just breakfast—they’re a crafted morning ritual. This intimate spot, tucked away on Washington Street in Canton, carries a quiet energy that hums with the anticipation of freshly baked dough, lightly crisped on the outside and pillowy soft within. It’s the kind of place where the pace naturally slows to savor the simple joy of a well-made bagel.
The space itself is undeniably cozy, with just enough room to pause while your order is carefully prepared. It invites you to linger in the scent of yeast and toasted sesame, a sensory reminder that here, tradition and attention to detail hold sway. There’s no sprawling café seating or buzzing crowd chatter, just a focused devotion to the essentials: bagels that marry crispness with tenderness, and fillings that speak to a lovingly honed craft.
The menu is a fitting soundtrack to this experience, offering variations that hint at classic New York bagel culture—from scallion to cinnamon raisin and the revered lox creations. Each bite is an unhurried encounter, a small celebration of flavors like veggie cream cheese or the comforting warmth of an egg-centered sandwich, even if the mood behind the counter might reflect the honest rhythms of an early morning.
Life’s A Bagel is a spot that rewards those who arrive early, since the demand often flutters high and supplies can run low. It captures the essence of a cherished neighborhood gem: unabashedly local, tenderly traditional, and quietly proud of serving up bagels that become a daily craving for many. Whether you’re stopping by for a cold drink to refresh or a warm, satisfying start to your day, there’s a humble authenticity here that welcomes you to slow down and simply savor the moment.

Legitimate NY style bagels. This very small location makes all of the great styles. We tried Sesame, Salt and Cinnamon Raisin and they were yeasty and light crispy on the outside. Expect to wait a few minutes as the space is tight. The prices are a little high but the quality is great.

No one, and I mean NO ONE, does bagels better than Life's a Bagel. They DO sell out occasionally. Get here early and know what you want. The line can be out the door frequently. Egg Onion Nova Lox Sandwiches are the BEST!

You can get the best daily fresh Bagel from this little local store. Also the cream cheeses are great. There is no place to seat and they only open for a limited hours.

Garlic bagel w veggie cream cheese was good as was the plain bagel sandwich with egg and cheese but the eggs were microwaved which personally was a bit of a turn-off. The gentleman at the register seemed a little moody, nothing over the top but maybe he's just isn't a morning person
